Disengaged
Jan. 19th, 2023 05:09 pmIn case you can't tell by my latest avatar change, I did pre-order Fire Emblem Engage. (Right now, I'm pretending to be Clanne, one of the first characters from the game, mainly because I liked his simple character style compared to Alear's blue-and-red color scheme.) However, since I waited up until a few weeks ago to change my mailing speed from "wait two weeks and get a measly $1 code for something digital from Amazon" to "ship it whenever", my copy won't arrive until a few days after the game comes out tomorrow. This means that I won't be at ground zero for the conversation (read: petty Internet arguments) about the game. And you know what? That's just fine. I don't really care whether or not the story or characters from Engage will supplant those from Three Houses in my brain palace, for that was a unique experience I'm glad the FE team isn't trying to replicate. We could all use something a bit lighter and/or softer (comparatively), anyway.
