I'm always amused by voice-acted games where characters speak different languages (example: English and Japanese), but they can understand each other perfectly and respond accordingly.

The Tekken games from 6 onward are weird about this, since I think that starting from Tekken Tag Tournament 2, most characters are voiced by actors who speak the character's native language (except for Ling Xiaoyu, who's always spoken Japanese by default in every game she's appeared in), and I tried not to scratch my head in story cutscenes where any of the Mishimas (Japanese) talked to someone like, say...Nina Williams (English). I haven't played Tekken 8 yet, but I've watched a funny pre-fight cutscene between Reina Mishima (yes, she's part of that family, too) and guest character Clive from Final Fantasy XVI where she compliments him on how lifelike his cosplay is, and he shrugs his shoulders and responds, "What the hell is cosplay?"

Playing more of Donkey Kong Bananza cemented this, as Pauline is the only character in the game (that I know of) who gets fully voiced dialogue while everyone else is ananimal or other non-human creature. She has no problem talking to or understanding any of them. Maybe it's because she spends the first hour or so of the game trapped in the form of a rock...?
